On the first day of our June vacation to the eastern Sierra, after crossing Sonora Pass we were treated to the spectacular view of a wild fire-caused sunset over the Pacific Crest. This fire burned for many days east to the Sierra and for the first days of our trip made the air more than a little unpleasant.
