Mono Lake, CA. While camped at June Lake we made several trips to Mono Lake. This briny lake has lost more than 40 feet of its depth to quench the thirst of Los Angeles, but no longer. Because of the geology and brine, calcium deposits called "tufa" dot the former lake bed. Sharon and I went on a canoe trip to explore these strange features.
